Hello my crafty friends,</div>
<div align="left">
<br /></div>
<div align="left">
A quick post of the Father's Day card I made for my 74 year old dad! He LOVES grilling and eating steak! So I came up with this idea for a card for him. I printed the sentiment from my computer, used Everyday Paperdolls for "my dad", the grill and the steak!!! It's simple, but I really like the way it turned out. He liked it too. I even made the little guys hair to match my dads...Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Dawn</div>

Hope you are all enjoying the day! I wanted to share with you a card that my mother and I made for my niece who is having her first child in June. We are excited to welcome a new little one into the family! It will be my mother's 9th great grandchild. YEAH! Anyway, we made this card using the baby buggy from Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed. We used single sheet paper from Hobby Lobby and the stamp is from Autumn Leaves that I bought from a Scrapbook store when I went to visit my kids and grandkinds in northern Arkansas. We love the way it turned out! Oh, and my favorite part, we put the buggy on an Action Wobble, how fun is that... <br />

Thought I better stop being so scared and try to post something with this new blogger format...<br />
Last month my daughter ask me if I could help make some party decorations for one of my granddaughters 9th birthday party. Even though I live 3 1/2 hours away, I knew I wanted to help. The theme, MONSTER HIGH!!!!! What the heck is Monster High, I asked!!!! My daughter explained that its the latest fad with shocking pink, black, skeletons, and bats... Mmmmm, interesting. So I got started!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
These are the little cupcakes pokes I made using cardstock, toothpicks and Hello Kitty Greetings cricut cartridge...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK_1vrtNSeRG6KRKI46076-6UtNriH5sSjQB5KF0zicIlKUf7qEskMQvlaM9koHE93vi0iFddE-iWaYiA04LV5Mj5c3wUoUn4ZpsI7pXbKenWF7XTNZsgF_VfoUBguKAWb9JQQNox6y8o/s1600/100_2841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK_1vrtNSeRG6KRKI46076-6UtNriH5sSjQB5KF0zicIlKUf7qEskMQvlaM9koHE93vi0iFddE-iWaYiA04LV5Mj5c3wUoUn4ZpsI7pXbKenWF7XTNZsgF_VfoUBguKAWb9JQQNox6y8o/s320/100_2841.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Some "girly" skeletons I made for my daughter to use for the party to decorate wherever she wanted to put them. (kinda creepy, but cute in a fun sort of way)!! She ended up putting one on top of the cake...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div align="center" class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
And finally, the card I made for Caily to match all the decorations. Sorry about the quality of the photo, I NEED a new camera! Well, I guess I did it, posted with this new blogger format. Going to take awhile to get used to this! (wonder why they couldn't just leave it the way it was?) Thank you for stopping by. I love the way it turned out. The inside says, "your vintage"! I used the <strong>Country Life</strong> cartridge (I love this cartridge) for the sewing machine and a cut from <strong>Lacy Labels</strong> to put my hand written sentiment on. The buttons are from my grandmothers buttons box. The paper and ribbon are from my stash. I punched a scalloped edge and added some pearls. I really love the way it turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day...<br />

This easel card I made for my dad's 73rd birthday! He loves chocolate cake. (Who doesn't) My dad is a very special person in my life, especially as I've grown older. When I was young he was always working and supporting his family, so we didn't see much of him or had a very close relationship. But now we do and I love every minute I am with him. I love you daddy!<br />
I am entering this card in the Paper Playtime Challenge, create an easel card...hope you enjoy it!<br />

I wanted to share with you the card I made for my mother for her 73th birthday. My mother is and always will be my best friend. She is a wonderful, caring, thoughtful, crafty, giving, beautiful, and God fearing woman. I remember when my brother and I were little we always said that she was our angel. Sniff Sniff, how cute is that... Anyway, this is my first "pop up" card and I love the way it turned out. I used different cuts from several cartridges, and of course, I forgot to write down all the details. Sorry...<br />

My last card I made was for Birthday Sundaes Blog Hop and Challenge. I recieved several comments about the paper I used for my cupcake "frosting". I decided that one of the reasons I blog, is to gain knowledge and learn different techniques from other bloggers. Sooo, I would like to pass on to my bloggy friends how I made the "frosting" paper.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L1oax0uEa0I/TkNRRPXDxEI/AAAAAAAAAKU/EbplACz3YSw/s1600/100_2642.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L1oax0uEa0I/TkNRRPXDxEI/AAAAAAAAAKU/EbplACz3YSw/s320/100_2642.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Supplies:<br />
Ink (I used alcohol ink) I believe regular ink would work as well.<br />
A spatula<br />
Table knife or something to swirl ink with<br />
Paper towels<br />
A dish of some kind<br />
White cardstock<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-No3Bzk0xuW4/TkNRS8D342I/AAAAAAAAAKY/p7IP7XxfRo4/s1600/100_2643.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="217" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-No3Bzk0xuW4/TkNRS8D342I/AAAAAAAAAKY/p7IP7XxfRo4/s320/100_2643.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 1: Shake shaving cream can and spray shaving cream in a back and forth motion into your dish. About 1/2" thick.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-if6HJt6euCA/TkNRU0S7KUI/AAAAAAAAAKc/-TbdaoImkmI/s1600/100_2644.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="209" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-if6HJt6euCA/TkNRU0S7KUI/AAAAAAAAAKc/-TbdaoImkmI/s320/100_2644.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 2: Add drops of the ink around on top of the shaving cream. For this demonstration I used 3 colors of ink. But you can use 1 color or as many colors as you want. This is <strong>YOUR</strong> creation!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RNhPp5BNATY/TkNRYwDYjCI/AAAAAAAAAKk/vBhL7D9xwbs/s1600/100_2646.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RNhPp5BNATY/TkNRYwDYjCI/AAAAAAAAAKk/vBhL7D9xwbs/s320/100_2646.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 3: Use a knife and make swirls in the shaving cream. (kinda like making a <strong><u>Marble Cake</u></strong>) YUM!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ph3PJAalgVk/TkNRa2O_gPI/AAAAAAAAAKo/q-a888xYT24/s1600/100_2647.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ph3PJAalgVk/TkNRa2O_gPI/AAAAAAAAAKo/q-a888xYT24/s320/100_2647.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 4: Next, lay your cardstock on top of the shaving cream/ink mixture and pat down firmly, but not too hard. Make sure you get all the cardstock into the mess, whoops I mean mixture. lol<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ldUR_XLTqCI/TkNRd-6TlDI/AAAAAAAAAKw/zb-tlDN5OoA/s1600/100_2649.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ldUR_XLTqCI/TkNRd-6TlDI/AAAAAAAAAKw/zb-tlDN5OoA/s320/100_2649.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 5: Lift cardstock up and use your spatula to scrap off as much shaving cream as you can. <strong>This is the messy part.</strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nFqEMhl9l1E/TkNRfFOidmI/AAAAAAAAAK0/04T-P--VJsw/s1600/100_2651.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nFqEMhl9l1E/TkNRfFOidmI/AAAAAAAAAK0/04T-P--VJsw/s320/100_2651.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Step 6: Use paper towel to wipe off and pat remainder of shaving cream off cardstock.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Sx4EFDXr00A/TkNRglNU8rI/AAAAAAAAAK4/bli3qgY6_cg/s1600/100_2652.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Sx4EFDXr00A/TkNRglNU8rI/AAAAAAAAAK4/bli3qgY6_cg/s320/100_2652.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Presto Change O, your finished <strong><u>ONE OF A KIND</u></strong> paper!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OmXRpNIHGSQ/TkNRidJSXHI/AAAAAAAAAK8/lgQL0L9FDz4/s1600/100_2654.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OmXRpNIHGSQ/TkNRidJSXHI/AAAAAAAAAK8/lgQL0L9FDz4/s320/100_2654.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Here is the finished project, plus two others I tried. The top paper is using just pink ink, the other one I made the shaving cream all pink by kinda stirring in the ink, then I went back and added a few drops of green ink, played around with making straight "marks" with my knife. I really liked the way this one turned out. Looks like leaves to me. Anyway, this is my 1st tutorial. Hope you enjoy and give this technique a try. Let me know if you do, I'd love to hear about your adventures! Dawn<br />

I made this card for the Cake and Cupcake Bloghop and Challenge over at Birthday Sundaes! What a fun hop, lots of blog candy to try to win. I made it just under the deadline too! Hope you enjoy. I'm so excited because back when I first started youtubing about card making I learned how to make the paper I used for the frosting. It's made using alcohol inks and shaving cream (messy, but worth it) Here are the treasures I used to make this A2 size card:<br /><br />Birthday Bash Cartridge for the cupcake (cut at 4")<br />different paper from my scrap box<br />Divine Swirls embossing folder<br />Happy Birthday embossing folder<br />Wet embossing for the sentiment (purple, and I still need lots of practice)<br />Happy Birthday sentiment from ? (I think I bought it at Hobby Lobby)<br />Button from my grandmother's button box<br /><br />Have a wonderful and blessed Sunday...<div style='clear:both; text-align:CENTER'><a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a></div>Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08574201618058175394noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8940164025744232260.post-52745543877810562882011-08-04T21:08:00.000-06:002011-08-04T21:08:17.300-06:00Friends Card<div style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYFhbfJ-TIYFC0msadPmxyxa-_cXPScV2b0EQHAy65geLfRReK7EW7kUEZHMoZnyN9Za7TZoebGOX43PDdTAZ_6p8iSBfy5hDCFH01d23WHkm3ncAm5g8zfBVw_at0BtFoWwfDv-QsF20/s1600/100_2618.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYFhbfJ-TIYFC0msadPmxyxa-_cXPScV2b0EQHAy65geLfRReK7EW7kUEZHMoZnyN9Za7TZoebGOX43PDdTAZ_6p8iSBfy5hDCFH01d23WHkm3ncAm5g8zfBVw_at0BtFoWwfDv-QsF20/s400/100_2618.JPG" /></a> </div>Hi everyone! As you know I went to visit my kids and grandkids for a week! Of course I had to take my Cricut along and all the "treasures" that go with it... My daughter and I stayed up until 3 am (with alittle help from coffee) and she made her first 4 cards. We had a blast and she loved it! I think her cards turned out really really well. She is also crafty! Gets it from her mom and grandmother. :) Anyway, I wanted to share with you her wonderful creations. Hope you enjoy! Have a blessed day!<br />

Cartridge SearchHi everyone,<br />
Haven't posted a card for awhile, I have a creative block... ;( Anyway, my 72 year old dad mows peoples yards to keep busy (like he hasn't worked enough in his life) and he asked me the other day if "my cutting machine" could cut out a lawnmower.(Gotta love him!) He's thinking ahead for Christmas cards for his customers. Christmas, oh no! Hee Hee! Well, I drew a blank, and can't think of any cartridges that could possible have a lawnmower on it. Sooo I'm asking for help from my bloggy friends. Any suggestions? Have a great day, and I will try to get my creative juices flowing again soon, I hope...Dawnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08574201618058175394noreply@blogger.com5
